Workshops

Inside the Pressure Chamber.

TooT Workshops are small-group exam training sessions — a maximum of 15 students per session — built around one idea: exam performance is a skill, and skills are trained.

The format

What TooT Workshops are

A TooT Workshop is not a lesson and it's not a revision class. It's a rehearsal for the real thing. Students sit together in a small group — never more than 15 students per session — and train under the same conditions they'll face in the exam hall.

Every workshop runs for 70 minutes and follows the same arc: the Pressure Chamber first, then a tutor-led debrief that turns the paper into progress.

Part one

The Pressure Chamber: 45 minutes, one real paper

For the first 45 minutes, students take on one real past exam paper under real exam conditions. The rule of the room is simple:

“Know it? Answer it. Unsure? Move on. Come back to it later.”

The goal is exam efficiency, not finishing the paper. Students learn to bank the marks they own, skip the questions that stall them, and return with time in hand — the exact discipline that separates calm candidates from rushed ones.

Why it works

  • Real past papers — never watered-down imitations.
  • Real timing, so pace becomes habit rather than hope.
  • Pressure practised weekly stops feeling like pressure.
The training

What students are actually training

Analysing quickly

Reading a question once and knowing what it's really asking — no wasted minutes on second and third reads.

Recognising topics

Instantly connecting each question to the method it needs, even when the wording disguises it.

Prioritising time

Spending minutes where the marks are — and refusing to let one hard question eat the whole paper.

Using exam technique

Command words, mark-scheme structure and clean working, applied automatically under pressure.

Moving on

The hardest skill in the hall: leaving a tough question behind, banking the easy marks, and coming back with a clear head.

Part two

When the 45 minutes are up

Pens down. The paper is marked — and then the real learning begins. The tutor walks the whole group through selected questions: the mistakes that cost marks, the better approaches that would have saved time, and the mark-scheme details most students never notice.

Every student leaves knowing exactly what the paper exposed and precisely what to do differently next time. That feedback loop — attempt, mark, walkthrough — is what turns one paper into lasting exam craft.

Who are workshops for?

Workshops are for students who already know the content — or are learning it in lessons — and need to convert knowledge into marks. If your child freezes under time pressure, runs out of time, or loses marks to technique rather than understanding, the Pressure Chamber was built for them.

GCSE students, 11+ candidates, and anyone who wants exam day to feel like just another Thursday.
